Ever have cravings for certain foods such as Indian food? On this local eatery I am going to share with you one of my go to places for quality Indian food and also at a affordable price.
Most Indian cuisines the portions are usually small and the cost per order can go from from $13-18 which can get expensive if you order multiple items.
So in order to solve this issue of having smaller portions and getting a bill of anywhere from $50-$60. I recommend a place called New Flavors of India which is located in the city of Rosemead, California. During lunch periods from 11:00 a.m through 3:00 p.m. This restaurant is converted to a buffet.
So what does that mean for you? it means all the Indian food you can eat at an affording lunch price of $10.99! This buffet style feature is only for lunch. Once the special lunch is over they resume back to their standard restaurant.
Getting here and parking
Head on in and get seated
Being a buffet, everything is self serve so grab a plate or two and head over to the concession stand and try out all of their amazing curries and Tandori chicken. There is a plate tray of rice so depending on you prefer to stack your dishes is completely up to you.
I personally like to get two scoops of rice and separate three of the curries right next to each other to try out all of them.
That looks mighty tasty! Here as seen is my two scoops of rice. Next to it is a scoops of chicken curry, spinach saag, and lamb curry. On top of my plate I decided to get a piece of their Tandori chicken.
There is also a small concession stand where you can get salad. I normally get a small plate and fill it with their yogurt type dressing as it helps to change the taste when trying different curry flavors.
The server at this point should have brought you a basket of Indian Naan which is a oven baked flat bread. You tear the flat bread in pieces and use it to dip the flavorable curry.
India culture etiquette
Clearly here in the Western world the proper eating etiquette is using silver ware either in the force of a fork or spoon. For some reason I find the food and experience to be better when you use your hands. When other diners views this practice they tend of be some what surprised.
In reality this is how Indian people eat in their culture. No different then people living in the states using their hands when eating a hamburger or french fries. Next time if not concerned with what people think as you shouldn’t. Give eating Indian food a try using your hands.
Just be sure not to chew off your fingers as I guarantee your fingers will smell like some sort of curry.
Verdict:
Great choices of curry, all you can eat and at $10.99 person there is no reasons you wouldn’t leave this awesome buffet feeling full and satisfied. Interested in trying? check out their website for locations and information. Now get eating!
