Following a previous fun idea of walking down along Hollywood Walk Of Fame on Hollywood blvd in search of your favorite movie star’s name embedded on the sidewalk.

Not too far from Hollywood Blvd is a fun place worth checking out if you are visiting Hollywood Blvd. This place is called Madame Tussauds Hollywood.

History about Madame Tussaunds

Madame Tussaunds is not just a fancy name for this wax museum. It’s a display museum featuring famous celebrities in their time sculpted with super fine details they are appear life like.

I had explored Madame Tussaunds wax museum on several occasions but never really understood the history of how everything started besides knowing the museum has some cool life like wax figures. After doing some research Madame Tussaunds is indeed the original sculpture herself.

Madame Tussaund’s real birth name after looking up her life history was named Anna Maria Grosholtz, born originally in Strasbourg France. Who is this person your wondering? apparently Ms. Grosholtz in her life time is a French artist and sculpture.

After exploring further in her life stories. Anna Maria Grosholtz would later marry her spouse Francois Tussaund and became what we know her today as Anna Maria (Marie Tussaund).

So in other words if Ms. Tussaund never married Francois Tussaund we might have gotten Madame Grosholtz wax museum

Wow facts on Madame Marie Tussaund found

The image of Madame Tussaund on the featured image holding a head. No, she did not commit murder and now has a head for a trophy. apparently that head is her first sculpture and is a wax sculpture of Voltaire. Who’s Voltaire?

Great question I was curious myself at the time. After researching information on who this person is it appeared he was a French writer, historian, and philosopher and his name is Francois-Marie Arouet.

It would appear whatever Mr. Francois-Marie Arouet wrote or believed in as a philosopher in his time. Madame Tussaund took a liking to it and would later make him the first honorary person to be sculpted.

Like all successful and memorial people throughout history. People always see the part when they become successful and important. They fail to see all failures and problems it took to get where they are in being successful.

Madame Tussaund is no exception. Apparently after a search in 1940 one of her museums which she built in London was hit by a German bomb which caused 350 mold heads to be destroyed.

Personally I know nothing about sculpting and casting mold heads. I’m certain it takes a lot of time and patience. After sculpting 350 of them to found out it got destroyed by A German bomb? I can’t imagine how devastating that must of been for Ms. Tussaund.

In modern times (2019) at the time of this article. I suppose it would be equivalent to having 350 pictures you took throughout your life or work as a photographer just to find out your computer hard drive crashed and you lost everything.

How about, after years of developing an instagram account with images and pictures you collected over the years to find out your account got hacked and is now deleted?

After going through several trial and errors and eventually having some success to where your able to expand. Madame Tussaund expanded her works to Germany BerlinGreat, what’s the problem with that your asking? Apparently Madame Tussaund had an idea to cast and sculpt the infamous Adolf Hiter at her museum in Berlin.

I don’t think a lesson in history needs to be given about Adolf Hiter, in Germany. Probably not the best figure to create considering what this person has done in his regime in Germany.

This didn’t seem to hinder what Madame Tussaund wanted to show in her creativity. A research suggest a random person actually broke into the museum and ripped off the sculpted head of Adolf Hiter.

Now that you have a general history of how this wax museum came about. Hopefully you will enjoy it for the history it brings and understand how much hard work it took Madame Tussaund to be what it is today.

Questions you may have before visiting

Q: Is it free to visit and how much does it cost to get in?
A: This attraction is paid to get in. Despite you would think wax sculptures would last forever, it still require some maintenance. All the income earned I’m sure does to maintenance and the creation of future sculptures. Check out their ticketing page as they offer a few different options pending on what works better for you. Tickets

Tip#1: Buy your tickets online. It will save you $10 at $19.99 usd  from buying it in person at the ticket booth $30.95. With the convenience of online purchases I have no clue why anyone would choose to buy it at the door.

Tip#2: They have a after 5:00 P.M option if you decide to visit in the evening. $16.99 usd. Saving you an additional $3.00 from the standard ticket online.

Q: Where do I park my vehicle or where do you suggest?
A: Madame Tussauds has a structure parking right behind it at a fixed rate of $15 usd. Hollywood does have some street parking, but I find it safer and convenient to park inside the structure knowing my vehicle is kept safe.

Q: How long does it take to complete the attraction ?
A: This will vary differently for each person. If you just go there and look at each wax figure and move on quickly you should be able to finish seeing everything in approximately 60-90 minutes.
However most people will want to take pictures of their favorite movie starts so if that’s you. It could take you 3-4 hours to get that perfect picture.

Lastly, have a great time and appreciate the fine details it went to these wax figures. If you take some time and get a great shot. It almost seems you were taking the actual picture with your favorite celebrities.

Take for example, with the perfect angle and light adjustment to give it that western appearance. It looks like I’m in part with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
